³ He built the upper gate of the house of the Lord and did much building on the wall of ^(A)Ophel.

¹⁴ Afterward he built an outer wall for the city of David west of ^(A)Gihon, in the valley, and for the entrance into ^(B)the Fish Gate, and carried it around ^(C)Ophel, and raised it to a very great height. He also put commanders of the army in all the fortified cities in Judah.

^26 (A)and the temple servants living on ^(B)Ophel repaired to a point opposite ^(C)the Water Gate on the east and the projecting tower. ²⁷ After him ^(D)the Tekoites repaired another section opposite the great projecting tower as far as the wall of Ophel.

² Then ^(A)Pashhur beat Jeremiah the prophet, and put him ^(B)in the stocks that were in the upper ^(C)Benjamin Gate of the house of the Lord.

²⁰ And he took the captains, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the Lord, marching ^(A)through the upper gate to the king's house. And they set the king on the royal throne.
