¹¹ Then Hiram the king of Tyre answered in a letter that he sent to Solomon, ^(A)“Because the Lord loves his people, he has made you king over them.”

⁸ Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you ^(A)and set you on his throne as king for the Lord your God! ^(B)Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

^9 (A)Blessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! ^(B)Because the Lord loved Israel forever, he has made you king, ^(C)that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

⁷ It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, ⁸ but ^(A)it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping ^(B)the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
