2 Corinthians 9:6-15

⁶Now I say this: ^(A)the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows ^[a]generously will also reap ^[b]generously. ⁷Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not ^(B)reluctantly or under compulsion, for ^(C)God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸And ^(D)God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; ⁹as it is written:

“^(E)He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor,
His righteousness ^[c]endures forever.”

¹⁰Now He who supplies ^(F)seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and ^(G)increase the harvest of your righteousness; ¹¹you will be ^(H)enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing ^(I)thanksgiving to God. ¹²For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying ^(J)the needs of the ^[d]saints, but is also overflowing ^(K)through many thanksgivings to God. ¹³Because of the proof given by this ^(L)ministry, they will ^(M)glorify God for your obedience to your ^(N)confession of the ^(O)gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your ^[e]contribution to them and to all, ¹⁴while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. ¹⁵^(P)Thanks be to God for His indescribable ^(Q)gift!

Generosity Encouraged

⁶Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.^(A) ⁷Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,^(B) not reluctantly or under compulsion,^(C) for God loves a cheerful giver.^(D) ⁸And God is able^(E) to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need,^(F) you will abound in every good work. ⁹As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts^(G) to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.”^[a]^(H)

¹⁰Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food^(I) will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.^(J) ¹¹You will be enriched^(K) in every way so that you can be generous^(L) on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.^(M)

¹²This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs^(N) of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.^(O) ¹³Because of the service^(P) by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God^(Q) for the obedience that accompanies your confession^(R) of the gospel of Christ,^(S) and for your generosity^(T) in sharing with them and with everyone else. ¹⁴And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. ¹⁵Thanks be to God^(U) for his indescribable gift!^(V)
