2 Kings 17:15-18

¹⁵^(A)They rejected His statutes and ^(B)His covenant which He made with their fathers, and His warnings which He ^[a]gave them. And ^(C)they followed ^[b]idols and ^(D)became empty, and followed the nations that surrounded them, about which the ^(E)Lord had commanded them not to do as they did. ¹⁶And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God and made for themselves cast metal images: ^(F)two calves. And they ^(G)made an ^[c]Asherah, and ^(H)worshiped all the heavenly ^[d]lights, and ^(I)served Baal. ¹⁷Then ^(J)they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and they ^(K)practiced divination and interpreting omens, and ^(L)gave themselves over to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him. ¹⁸So the Lord was very angry with Israel, and He ^(M)removed them from His ^[e]sight; ^(N)no one was left except the tribe of Judah.

New International Version

¹⁵They rejected his decrees and the covenant^(A) he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols^(B) and themselves became worthless.^(C) They imitated the nations^(D) around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do.”

¹⁶They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves,^(E) and an Asherah^(F) pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts,^(G) and they worshiped Baal.^(H) ¹⁷They sacrificed^(I) their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sought omens^(J) and sold^(K) themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.
