^7 (A)And Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord, for there he offered the burnt offering and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar Solomon had made could not hold the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat.

¹² Then Solomon offered up burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of the Lord ^(A)that he had built before the vestibule,

⁸ As soon as Asa heard these words, ^(A)the prophecy of Azariah the son of Oded, he took courage and put away the detestable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from ^(B)the cities that he had taken in ^(C)the hill country of Ephraim, and he repaired the altar of the Lord ^(D)that was in front of the vestibule of the house of the Lord.^[a]

⁶⁴ The same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord, for there he offered the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat pieces of the peace offerings, because ^(A)the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small to receive the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat pieces of the peace offerings.

¹⁴ And ^(A)the bronze altar that was before the Lord he removed ^(B)from the front of the house, from the place between ^(C)his altar and the house of the Lord, and put it on the north side of ^(D)his altar.

The Altar

¹³ “These are the measurements of ^(A)the altar by cubits (the cubit being ^(B)a cubit and a handbreadth):^[a] its base shall be one cubit high^[b] and one cubit broad, with a rim of one span^[c] round its edge. And this shall be the height of the altar: ¹⁴ from the base on the ground to the lower ledge, two cubits, with a breadth of one cubit; and from the smaller ledge to the larger ledge, four cubits, with a breadth of one cubit; ¹⁵ and the altar hearth, four cubits; and from the altar hearth projecting upwards, ^(C)four horns. ¹⁶ The altar hearth shall be ^(D)square, twelve cubits long by twelve broad. ¹⁷ The ledge also shall be square, fourteen cubits long by fourteen broad, with a rim round it half a cubit broad, and its base one cubit all round. ^(E)The steps of the altar shall face east.”
