Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and (A)rebelled against his lord. Then (B)worthless rogues gathered to him, and strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was (C)young and inexperienced and could not withstand them. And now you think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord, which is in the hand of the sons of David; and you are a great multitude, and with you are the gold calves which Jeroboam (D)made for you as gods.

Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, an official of Solomon son of David, rebelled(A) against his master. Some worthless scoundrels(B) gathered around him and opposed Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young and indecisive(C) and not strong enough to resist them.
