1 Samuel 18:10-12
American Standard Version
10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he [a]prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. And Saul had his spear in his hand; 11 and Saul cast the spear; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall. And David avoided out of his presence twice. 12 And Saul was afraid of David, because Jehovah was with him, and was departed from Saul.

Lexham English Bible
10 On[a] the next day, the evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he prophesied in the middle of the house. Now David was playing the lyre with his hand on that day as usual,[b] and the spear was in Saul’s hand. 11 Then Saul hurled the spear and thought, “I will pin David to the wall.”[c] But David eluded him twice. 12 Now Saul was threatened by the presence of David[d] because Yahweh was with him, but had departed from Saul.
