1 Corinthians 4:18-5:5

¹⁸ Now some have become ^[a](A)arrogant, as though I were not ^(B)coming to you. ¹⁹ But I ^(C)will come to you soon, ^(D)if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the ^[b]words of those who are ^(E)arrogant but their power. ²⁰ For the kingdom of God does ^(F)not consist in ^[c]words but in power. ²¹ What do you desire? ^(G)Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?

Immorality Rebuked

5 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has ^(H)his father’s wife. ^2 [d]You ^(I)have become ^[e]arrogant and ^[f]have not ^(J)mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be ^(K)removed from your midst.

³ For I, on my part, though ^(L)absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. ^4 (M)In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and ^[g]I with you in spirit, ^(N)with the power of our Lord Jesus, ⁵ I have decided to ^(O)deliver such a one to ^(P)Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in ^(Q)the day of the Lord ^[h]Jesus.
