14 David reigned over all Israel; he guaranteed justice for all his people.[a] 15 Joab son of Zeruiah was commanding general of[b] the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was secretary; 16 Zadok son of Ahitub and Abimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Shavsha[c] was scribe; 17 Benaiah son of Jehoiada supervised[d] the Kerethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were the king’s leading officials.[e]

14 So David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and equity to all his people. 15 And (A)Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; 16 (B)and Zadok the son of Ahitub and (C)Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and (D)Shavsha was secretary; 17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were the (E)chief officials in the service of the king.
