Men and Women in the Church

⁸ I desire therefore that the men pray ^(A)everywhere, ^(B)lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

^8 (A)Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. ^(B)Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and ^(C)purify your hearts, you double-minded.

²² let us ^(A)draw near with a true heart ^(B)in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

^8 (A)This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

¹⁴ Therefore I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

⁵ When we had come to the end of those days, we departed and went on our way; and they all accompanied us, with wives and children, till we were out of the city. And ^(A)we knelt down on the shore and prayed.

²¹ Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming ^(A)when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

^9 (A)Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and ^(B)walk after other gods whom you do not know, ^10 (C)and then come and stand before Me in this house ^(D)which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered to do all these abominations’?
