1 Thessalonians 1:2-10
King James Version
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.
7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.Read full chapter

The Thessalonians' Faith and Example
2 (A)We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly[a] (B)mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before (C)our God and Father (D)your work of faith and labor of (E)love and (F)steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, (G)brothers[b] loved by God, (H)that he has chosen you, 5 because (I)our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and (J)in the Holy Spirit and with full (K)conviction. You know (L)what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 And (M)you became imitators of us (N)and of the Lord, for (O)you received the word in much affliction, (P)with the (Q)joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord (R)sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth (S)everywhere, so that we need not say anything. 9 For they themselves report concerning us the kind of (T)reception we had among you, and how (U)you turned to God (V)from idols to serve the living and (W)true God, 10 and (X)to wait for his Son (Y)from heaven, (Z)whom he raised from the dead, Jesus (AA)who delivers us from (AB)the wrath to come.Read full chapter
