⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for in spite of persecution you received the word with joy from the Holy Spirit,^(A)

11 ¹ Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.^(A)

¹⁶ I appeal to you, then, be imitators of me.^(A)

⁵² And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.^(A)

⁹ This was not because we do not have that right but in order to give you an example to imitate.^(A)

The Fruit of the Spirit

²² By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,^(A)

¹¹ Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but imitate what is good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.^(A)

⁵ But the Jews became jealous, and with the help of some ruffians in the marketplaces they formed a mob and set the city in an uproar. While they were searching for Paul and Silas to bring them out to the assembly, they attacked Jason’s house.^{(A) 6} When they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some brothers and sisters before the city authorities, shouting, “These people who have been turning the world upside down have come here also,^{(B) 7} and Jason has entertained them as guests. They are all acting contrary to the decrees of the emperor, saying that there is another king named Jesus.”^{(C) 8} The people and the city officials were disturbed when they heard this, ⁹ and after they had taken bail from Jason and the others, they let them go.

¹⁰ That very night the brothers and sisters sent Paul and Silas off to Beroea, and when they arrived they went to the Jewish synagogue.^(D)

¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,^[a] to be with you forever.^{(A) 17} This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him because he abides with you, and he will be^[b] in^[c] you.^(B)

¹⁸ “I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.

¹³ Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
