⁴ Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at ^(A)Ramah

¹⁷ Then he would return to ^(A)Ramah, for his home was there, and there also he judged Israel. ^(B)And he built there an altar to the Lord.

³ So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, ^(A)and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron ^(B)before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel.
