¹⁰ But David pursued, he and four hundred men. ^(A)Two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.

²¹ Then David came to ^(A)the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow David, and who had been left ^(B)at the brook Besor. And they went out to meet David and to meet the people who were with him. And when David came near to the people he greeted them.

⁹ So David set out, and ^(A)the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.

³¹ They struck down the Philistines that day from ^(A)Michmash to ^(B)Aijalon. And the people were very ^(C)faint.

²⁰ Then Saul and all the people who were with him rallied and went into the battle. And behold, ^(A)every Philistine's sword was against his fellow, and there was very great confusion.

⁴ And Gideon came to the Jordan and crossed over, he and ^(A)the 300 men who were with him, exhausted yet pursuing. ⁵ So he said to the men of ^(B)Succoth, “Please give loaves of bread to the people who follow me, for they are exhausted, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”
