Saul Murders the Priests

⁶ When Saul heard that David and the men who were with him had been discovered—now Saul was staying in ^(A)Gibeah under a tamarisk tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants standing about him—

³³ Then Saul ^(A)cast a spear at him to ^[a]kill him, ^(B)by which Jonathan knew that it was determined by his father to kill David.

⁹ Now ^(A)the distressing spirit from the Lord came upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing music with his hand.

¹⁰ And it happened on the next day that ^(A)the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, ^(B)and he prophesied inside the house. So David ^(C)played music with his hand, as at other times; ^(D)but there was a spear in Saul’s hand.

^5 (A)And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

³³ Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and ^(A)there called on the name of the Lord, ^(B)the Everlasting God.
