³⁷ The Lord who rescued^(A) me from the paw of the lion^(B) and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”

Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with^(C) you.”

¹⁷ But the Lord stood at my side^(A) and gave me strength,^(B) so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it.^(C) And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.^{(D) 18} The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack^(E) and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.^(F) To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.^(G)

⁹ Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God,^(A) who raises the dead.^{(B) 10} He has delivered us from such a deadly peril,^(C) and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope^(D) that he will continue to deliver us,

¹¹ “Now, my son, the Lord be with^(A) you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would.

¹³ But if my father intends to harm you, may the Lord deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely,^(A) if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the Lord be with^(B) you as he has been with my father.

¹² Then Samuel took a stone^(A) and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer,^[a](B) saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
