Destroy the Amalekites

17 (A)“Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you were coming out of Egypt, 18 how he met you on the way and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he (B)did not fear God. 19 Therefore it shall be, (C)when the Lord your God has given you rest from your enemies all around, in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, that you will (D)blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. Victory over the Amalekites(A)

And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, (E)“Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that (F)I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” 15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, [b]The-Lord-Is-My-Banner; 16 for he said, “Because [c]the Lord has (G)sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
