¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a ^[a]busybody in other people’s matters.

¹¹ that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, ^(A)to mind your own business, and ^(B)to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

¹³ And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

¹¹ For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are ^(A)busybodies.

¹⁷ For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

¹⁹ For this is ^(A)commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. ²⁰ For ^(B)what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.

^9 (A)for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, ^(B)even to the point of chains; ^(C)but the word of God is not chained.

^11 (A)Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of ^(B)evil against you falsely for My sake.
