¹⁸ And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, ^(A)in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals.

¹¹ So ^(A)I contended with the rulers, and said, ^(B)“Why is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their place.

¹⁵ In those days I saw people in Judah treading winepresses ^(A)on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens, ^(B)which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I warned them about the day on which they were selling provisions.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, ^(A)“Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from ^(B)the wrath to come?

⁴ Because John had said to him, ^(A)“It is not lawful for you to have her.”

¹¹ And have ^(A)no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather ^[a]expose them.
