²⁸ Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.

¹⁷ “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor^(A) on your desolate sanctuary. ¹⁸ Give ear,^(B) our God, and hear;^(C) open your eyes and see^(D) the desolation of the city that bears your Name.^(E) We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.^{(F) 19} Lord, listen! Lord, forgive!^(G) Lord, hear and act! For your sake,^(H) my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”
