²⁰ And he cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?”

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And ^(A)if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. ¹⁶ Therefore, ^(B)confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, ^(C)that you may be healed. ^(D)The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.^{[a] 17} Elijah was a man ^(E)with a nature like ours, and ^(F)he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for ^(G)three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. ^18 (H)Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

²² And ^(A)whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, ^(B)if you have faith.”

Jeremiah's Complaint

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said: “O Lord, the God of Israel, ^(A)enthroned above the cherubim, ^(B)you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.

^4 (A)It may be that the Lord your God heard all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent ^(B)to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for ^(C)the remnant that is left.”

³⁶ And at the time of ^(A)the offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O Lord, ^(B)God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that ^(C)you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that ^(D)I have done all these things at your word. ³⁷ Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back.”
