³³ And Ahab made an ^(A)Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger ^(B)than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

⁶ Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, ^(A)which he made Israel to sin, but walked^[a] in them; and ^(B)the Asherah also remained in Samaria.)

Ahab's Repentance

²⁵ (^(A)There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited.

³ For he rebuilt the high places ^(A)that Hezekiah his father had destroyed, and he erected altars for Baal and made ^(B)an Asherah, ^(C)as Ahab king of Israel had done, ^(D)and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.

¹³ You shall ^(A)tear down their altars and ^(B)break their pillars and cut down their ^(C)Asherim

The Sin of Judah

17 “The sin of Judah is written with ^(A)a pen of iron; with a point of diamond it is engraved on ^(B)the tablet of their heart, and on ^(C)the horns of their altars, ² while ^(D)their children remember their altars and their ^(E)Asherim, ^(F)beside every green tree and on the high hills,

¹⁶ And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of ^(A)two calves; and they ^(B)made an Asherah and ^(C)worshiped all the host of heaven and served ^(D)Baal.

⁸ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord, Micaiah the son of Imlah, but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say so.”

⁶ Then the king of Israel ^(A)gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said, “Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

¹⁹ And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ And you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: ^(A)“In the place where dogs licked up the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your own blood.”’”
