^12 (A)No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and ^(B)his love is perfected in us.

⁵ but whoever ^(A)keeps his word, in him truly ^(B)the love of God is perfected. ^(C)By this we may know that we are in him:

^18 (A)No one has ever seen God; ^(B)the only God,^[a] who is at the Father's side,^{[b] (C)}he has made him known.

¹⁷ By this ^(A)is love perfected with us, so that ^(B)we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because ^(C)as he is so also are we in this world. ¹⁸ There is no fear in love, but ^(D)perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not ^(E)been perfected in love.

^16 (A)who alone has immortality, ^(B)who dwells in ^(C)unapproachable light, ^(D)whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

^20 (A)If anyone says, “I love God,” and ^(B)hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot^[a] love God ^(C)whom he has not seen.

^24 (A)Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God,^[a] and God^[b] in him. And ^(B)by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

²⁷ By faith he ^(A)left Egypt, ^(B)not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured ^(C)as seeing him who is invisible.

¹³ So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
