3 (A)that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed (B)our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing these things so (C)that our[a] joy may be complete.
Walking in the Light
5 (D)This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that (E)God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 (F)If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and (G)do not practice the truth. 7 But (H)if we walk in the light, (I)as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and (J)the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

9 because, if (A)you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and (B)believe in your heart (C)that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, (D)“Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 (E)For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; (F)for the same Lord is Lord of all, (G)bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For (H)“everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
