⁹ If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son.^(A)

¹⁶ And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw God’s Spirit descending like a dove and alighting on him.^{(A) 17} And a voice from the heavens said, “This is my Son, the Beloved,^[a] with whom I am well pleased.”^(B)

³¹ because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”^(A)

⁵ While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, the Beloved;^[a] with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”^(A)

¹⁰ Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God^[a] have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.^(A)

³⁸ But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand^[a] that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”^(A)

⁴ while God added his testimony by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, distributed according to his will.^(A)

³² And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.”^(A)

¹⁷ In your law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is valid.^{(A) 18} I testify on my own behalf, and the Father who sent me testifies on my behalf.”^{(B) 19} Then they said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”^(C)

³⁹ “You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life, and it is they that testify on my behalf.^(A)
