Confidence and Compassion in Prayer

¹⁴ Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that ^(A)if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, ^(A)we have confidence toward God. ²² And ^(B)whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments ^(C)and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

^13 (A)And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be ^(B)glorified in the Son.

^3 (A)‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and ^[a]mighty things, which you do not know.’

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking^(A)

^7 (B)“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. ⁸ For ^(C)everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. ^9 (D)Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? ¹¹ If you then, ^(E)being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words ^(A)abide in you, ^(B)you^[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

^3 (A)You ask and do not receive, ^(B)because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

The Children of God

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in Him, that ^[a]when He appears, we may have ^(A)confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
