John 12:3-8
New International Version
3 Then Mary took about a pint[a] of pure nard, an expensive perfume;(A) she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair.(B) And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him,(C) objected, 5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.[b]” 6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag,(D) he used to help himself to what was put into it.
7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial.(E) 8 You will always have the poor among you,[c](F) but you will not always have me.”
John 14:23-27
New International Version
23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.(A) My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.(B) 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.(C)
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate,(D) the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,(E) will teach you all things(F) and will remind you of everything I have said to you.(G) 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.(H) I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled(I) and do not be afraid.
John 15:12
