¹⁹ For it is written:

^20 (B)Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the ^[a]disputer of this age? ^(C)Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? ²¹ For since, in the ^(D)wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Glory Only in the Lord

²⁶ For ^[a]you see your calling, brethren, ^(A)that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many ^[b]noble, are called. ²⁷ But ^(B)God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and the ^[c]base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, ²⁹ that no flesh should glory in His presence. ³⁰ But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and ^(C)righteousness and sanctification and redemption— ³¹ that, as it is written, ^(D)“He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

⁵ that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the ^(A)power of God.

¹¹ For what man knows the things of a man except the ^(A)spirit of the man which is in him? ^(B)Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

¹³ These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the ^[a]Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. ^14 (A)But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ¹⁵ But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. ¹⁶ For ^(B)“who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” ^(C)But we have the mind of Christ.
