⁴ For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

¹¹ And he said to them, ^(A)“Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, ¹² and ^(B)if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

^9 (A)And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”^[a]

³ And I said to her, “You must ^(A)dwell as mine for many days. You shall not play the whore, or belong to another man; so will I also be to you.”
