¹¹ To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

^12 (A)I know how to ^[a]be abased, and I know how to ^[b]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: ^(A)in labors more abundant, ^(B)in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, ^(C)in deaths often. ²⁴ From the Jews five times I received ^(D)forty ^(E)stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was ^(F)beaten with rods; ^(G)once I was stoned; three times I ^(H)was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; ²⁶ in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, ^(I)in perils of my own countrymen, ^(J)in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ in weariness and toil, ^(K)in sleeplessness often, ^(L)in hunger and thirst, in ^(M)fastings often, in cold and nakedness—

¹¹ persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me ^(A)at Antioch, ^(B)at Iconium, ^(C)at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And ^(D)out of them all the Lord delivered me.

²⁰ And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

⁴ But in all things we commend ourselves ^(A)as ministers of God: in much ^[a]patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, ^5 (B)in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;

⁸ We are ^(A)hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
