⁵³ For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and ^(A)this mortal body must put on immortality.

² For in this tent ^(A)we groan, longing to ^(B)put on our heavenly dwelling, ³ if indeed by putting it on^[a] we may not be found naked. ⁴ For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal ^(C)may be swallowed up by life.

² Beloved, we are ^(A)God's children ^(B)now, and what we will be ^(C)has not yet appeared; but we know that ^(D)when he appears^{[a] (E)}we shall be like him, because ^(F)we shall see him as he is.

⁷ to those who ^(A)by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;

²⁴ and to put on ^(A)the new self, ^(B)created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

^12 (A)The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us ^(B)cast off ^(C)the works of darkness and ^(D)put on the armor of light. ^13 (E)Let us walk properly as in the daytime, ^(F)not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, ^(G)not in quarreling and jealousy. ¹⁴ But ^(H)put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, ^(I)to gratify its desires.

²⁷ For as many of you as ^(A)were baptized ^(B)into Christ have ^(C)put on Christ.
