Order in Church Meetings

²⁶ How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, ^(A)has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. ^(B)Let all things be done for ^[a]edification.

¹⁹ speaking to one another ^(A)in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making ^(B)melody in your heart to the Lord,

^19 (A)Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which ^(B)one may ^[a]edify another.

¹¹ Therefore ^[a]comfort each other and ^[b]edify one another, just as you also are doing.

⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: ⁸ for to one is given ^(A)the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another ^(B)the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, ^9 (C)to another faith by the same Spirit, to another ^(D)gifts of healings by ^[a]the same Spirit, ^10 (E)to another the working of miracles, to another ^(F)prophecy, to another ^(G)discerning of spirits, to another ^(H)different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

^16 (A)from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

¹² Even so you, since you are ^[a]zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the ^[b]edification of the church that you seek to excel.

¹³ Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may ^(A)interpret.

^29 (A)Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but ^(B)what is good for necessary ^[a]edification, ^(C)that it may impart grace to the hearers.

^10 (A)Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the ^(B)authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.
