Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

¹⁸ For the word of the cross is ^(A)folly to ^(B)those who are perishing, but to us ^(C)who are being saved it is ^(D)the power of God.

¹⁴ The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are ^(A)folly to him, and ^(B)he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

³ And even ^(A)if our gospel is veiled, ^(B)it is veiled to ^(C)those who are perishing.

The Righteous Shall Live by Faith

¹⁶ For ^(A)I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is ^(B)the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew ^(C)first and also to ^(D)the Greek.

¹⁰ and with all wicked deception for ^(A)those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

²³ but we preach Christ ^(A)crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, ²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ ^(B)the power of God and ^(C)the wisdom of God. ²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

²¹ For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach^[a] to save those who believe.

² For I decided to know nothing among you except ^(A)Jesus Christ and him crucified.

¹² For ^(A)the word of God is living and ^(B)active, ^(C)sharper than any ^(D)two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and ^(E)discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

¹⁵ For we are the aroma of Christ to God among ^(A)those who are being saved and among ^(B)those who are perishing, ^16 (C)to one a fragrance from death to death, ^(D)to the other a fragrance from life to life. ^(E)Who is sufficient for these things?
