²⁴ After the death of Hezron, ^(A)Caleb went in to Ephrathah,^[a] the wife of Hezron his father, and she bore him ^(B)Ashhur, the father of Tekoa.

^5 (A)Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, had two wives, Helah and Naarah;

1 The words of Amos, who was among the ^(A)shepherds^[a] of ^(B)Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel ^(C)in the days of ^(D)Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of ^(E)Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years^[b] before ^(F)the earthquake.

^18 (A)Caleb the son of Hezron fathered children by his wife Azubah, and by Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. ¹⁹ When Azubah died, ^(B)Caleb married ^(C)Ephrath, who bore him ^(D)Hur.

⁹ The sons of Hezron that were born to him: Jerahmeel, ^(A)Ram, and ^(B)Chelubai.

² And Joab sent to ^(A)Tekoa and brought from there a wise woman and said to her, “Pretend to be a mourner and put on mourning garments. ^(B)Do not anoint yourself with oil, but behave like a woman who has been mourning many days for the dead.

^14 (A)We had made a raid against the Negeb of ^(B)the Cherethites and against that which belongs to Judah and against the Negeb of Caleb, and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
