²⁷ Jehoiada, the leader of the Aaronites, and with him three thousand seven hundred;

¹⁷ over the Levites, ^(A)Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; over the Aaronites, Zadok;

²⁰ And ^(A)Phinehas the son of Eleazar had been the officer over them in time past; the Lord was with him.

The Family of Aaron

^49 (A)But Aaron and his sons offered sacrifices ^(B)on the altar of burnt offering and ^(C)on the altar of incense, for all the work of the Most Holy Place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded. ⁵⁰ Now these are the ^(D)sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son, ⁵¹ Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son, ⁵² Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son, ⁵³ Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son.

Dwelling Places of the Levites^(E)

^54 (F)Now these are their dwelling places throughout their settlements in their territory, for they were given by lot to the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathites: ^55 (G)They gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, with its surrounding ^[a]common-lands. ^56 (H)But the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh. ⁵⁷ And ^(I)to the sons of Aaron they gave one of the cities of refuge, Hebron; also Libnah with its common-lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its common-lands,

^18 (A)And the captain of the guard took ^(B)Seraiah the chief priest, ^(C)Zephaniah the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.

^9 (A)So the captains of the hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. Each of them took his men who were to be on duty on the Sabbath, with those who were going off duty on the Sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

⁴ In ^(B)the seventh year Jehoiada sent and brought the captains of hundreds—of the bodyguards and the ^[a]escorts—and brought them into the house of the Lord to him. And he made a covenant with them and took an oath from them in the house of the Lord, and showed them the king’s son.
