28 The sons of Abraham:
Isaac and Ishmael.
Genesis 21:12

12 But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring[a] will be reckoned.(A)

2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son(A) to Abraham in his old age,(B) at the very time God had promised him.(C) 3 Abraham gave the name Isaac[a](D) to the son Sarah bore him. 4 When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him,(E) as God commanded him. 5 Abraham was a hundred years old(F) when his son Isaac was born to him.

11 The angel of the Lord(A) also said to her:
“You are now pregnant
and you will give birth to a son.(B)

12 He will be a wild donkey(F) of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward[b] all his brothers.(G)”
13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,(H)” for she said, “I have now seen[c] the One who sees me.”(I) 14 That is why the well(J) was called Beer Lahai Roi[d];(K) it is still there, between Kadesh(L) and Bered.
15 So Hagar(M) bore Abram a son,(N) and Abram gave the name Ishmael(O) to the son she had borne. 16 Abram was eighty-six years old(P) when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
