For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.(A) But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.(B) Those who want to get rich(C) fall into temptation and a trap(D) and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money(E) is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith(F) and pierced themselves with many griefs.(G)

11 But you, man of God,(H) flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness,(I) faith, love,(J) endurance and gentleness.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
