³⁴And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

³⁴But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a ^(A)lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock,

¹²They are like a lion^(A) hungry for prey,^(B)
like a fierce lion crouching in cover.

¹²Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

¹²As a lion is eager to tear his prey,
And like a young lion lurking in secret places.
