1 Corinthians 6:13-20

¹³^(A)Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for ^(B)sexual immorality but ^(C)for the Lord, ^(D)and the Lord for the body. ¹⁴And ^(E)God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up ^(F)by His power.

¹⁵Do you not know that ^(G)your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! ¹⁶Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For ^(H)“the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” ¹⁷^(I)But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

¹⁸^(J)Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins ^(K)against his own body. ¹⁹Or ^(L)do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, ^(M)and you are not your own? ²⁰For ^(N)you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body ^[a]and in your spirit, which are God’s.

¹³You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.”^(A) The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord,^(B) and the Lord for the body. ¹⁴By his power God raised the Lord from the dead,^(C) and he will raise us also.^(D) ¹⁵Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?^(E) Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! ¹⁶Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”^[a]^(F) ¹⁷But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.^[b]^(G)

¹⁸Flee from sexual immorality.^(H) All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.^(I) ¹⁹Do you not know that your bodies are temples^(J) of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;^(K) ²⁰you were bought at a price.^(L) Therefore honor God with your bodies.^(M)
