⁹ Let us not test Christ as some of them did^[a] and were destroyed by snakes.^{(A) 10} Nor should we complain^(B) as some of them did,^[b](C) and were killed by the destroyer.^{[c](D) 11} Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us,^(E) on whom the ends of the ages^(F) have come.^(G)
