1 Corinthians 6:19-20New American Standard Bible (NASB)
19 Or do you not know that your body is a [a]temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from [b]God, and that you are not your own?20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
37 Now when He had spoken, a Pharisee *asked Him to have lunch with him; and He went in, and reclined at the table.38 When the Pharisee saw it, he was surprised that He had not first [a]ceremonially washed before the [b]meal.39 But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but [c]inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness.40 You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also?41 But give that which is within as charity, and [d]then all things are clean for you.
42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the respectful greetings in the market places.
41 And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the people were putting [a]money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums.42 A poor widow came and put in two [b]small copper coins, which amount to a [c]cent.43 Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all [d]the contributors to the treasury;44 for they all put in out of their [e]surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, [f]all she had to live on.”
7 “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’
You Have Robbed God
8 “Will a man [a]rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and [b]offerings.9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are [c]robbing Me, the whole nation of you!10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be [d]food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until [e]it overflows.11 Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not [f]destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,” says the Lord of hosts.
