1 Peter 2:5-8 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

1 Peter 2:5-8 New King James Version (NKJV)

you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”

Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who [a]are disobedient,

“The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”

and

“A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”

They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

1 Peter 2:5-8 Modern English Version (MEV)

you also, as living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house as a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For also it is contained in the Scripture,

“Look! I lay in Zion
    a chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
and he who believes in Him
shall never be put to shame.”[a]

Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious. But to those who are disobedient,

“The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone,”[b]

and,

“A stone of stumbling,
    and a rock of offense.”[c]

They stumble because they are disobedient to the word, to which also they were appointed.

«¡Miren! Yo pongo en Sión
la principal piedra angular, escogida y preciosa;
