20 (A)If anyone says, “I love God,” and (B)hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[a] love God (C)whom he has not seen. 21 And (D)this commandment we have from him: (E)whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Overcoming the World

(F)Everyone who believes that (G)Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and (H)everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. (I)By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For (J)this is the love of God, that we (K)keep his commandments. And (L)his commandments are not burdensome. For (M)everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—(N)our faith.
