Молитва Неемии об Иерусалиме
1 Слова Неемии, сына Ахалии:
В месяце кислеве, в двадцатом году правления царя Артаксеркса[a] (поздней осенью 446 г. до н. э.), когда я находился в крепости города Сузы, 2 Ханани – один из моих братьев – пришёл из Иудеи с некоторыми другими людьми, и я расспросил их об уцелевших жителях Иудеи, которые вернулись из плена, и об Иерусалиме.
3 Они сказали мне:
– Те, кто прошёл через плен и вернулся в провинцию Иудея, сейчас в большой беде и бесчестии. Стена Иерусалима разрушена, а его ворота сожжены.
4 Услышав это, я сел и заплакал. Несколько дней я скорбел, постился и молился пред Богом небесным. 5 Я говорил:
– О Вечный[b], Бог небес, Бог великий и грозный, верный соглашению любви с теми, кто любит Тебя и слушается Твоих повелений, 6 да будут уши Твои внимательны и глаза Твои открыты, чтобы услышать молитву Твоего раба, которой я молюсь пред Тобой день и ночь за Твоих рабов, народ Исраила. Я признаюсь в грехах, которыми мы, исраильтяне, включая меня и дом моего отца, согрешили против Тебя. 7 Мы поступали пред Тобой нечестиво. Мы не слушались повелений, установлений и законов, которые Ты дал Своему рабу Мусе.
8 Вспомни повеление, которое Ты дал Своему рабу Мусе, сказав: «Если вы нарушите верность, Я рассею вас среди народов, 9 но если вы вернётесь ко Мне и станете слушаться Моих повелений, то даже если ваши изгнанники будут находиться на краю земли, Я соберу вас оттуда и приведу на место, которое Я избрал, чтобы Мне там поклонялись».[c]
10 Они – Твои рабы и Твой народ, который Ты искупил Своей великой силой и могучей рукой. 11 О Владыка, да будут уши Твои внимательны к молитве Твоего раба и к молитве Твоих рабов, которые любят чтить Твоё имя. Дай сегодня Твоему рабу успех, даровав ему расположение царя.
Я был виночерпием[d] царя.

1 Вот слова Неемии, сына Гахалии:
В месяце кислеве, в двадцатый год[a] царствования Артаксеркса, я находился в столичном городе Сузы. 2 В это время Ханани, один из моих братьев, и несколько других человек пришли из Иудеи. Я спросил их о евреях, живущих там. Это были люди, которые избежали плена и жили ещё в Иудее. Я также спросил об Иерусалиме.
3 Ханани и люди с ним сказали: «Неемия, те евреи, которые спаслись из плена, живут в Иудейской земле и терпят много бед и унижений. И всё это происходит по той причине, что стена Иерусалима разрушена, а ворота сожжены».
4 Когда я услышал эти вести о жителях Иерусалима и что произошло со стеной, я очень расстроился. Я сел и заплакал. Меня терзала печаль, и поэтому я семь дней постился и молился Богу Небесному. 5 Затем я произнёс следующую молитву:
Господи, Боже Небесный, Ты великий и могущественный Бог. Ты—Бог, хранящий Своё обещание любви к людям, которые любят Тебя и подчиняются Твоим заветам.
6 Пожалуйста, открой Свои глаза и уши и послушай молитву Твоего слуги, который молится перед Тобой днём и ночью. Я молюсь за слуг Твоих, за израильтян. Я исповедуюсь в грехах, которые мы, израильтяне, совершили против Тебя. Я признаюсь, что я и другие люди из семьи моего отца согрешили против Тебя. 7 Мы, израильтяне, очень грешны перед Тобой. Мы не подчинялись уставам, заповедям и законам, которые Ты дал Своему слуге Моисею.
8 Пожалуйста, вспомни заповеди, которые Ты дал Своему слуге Моисею. Ты говорил ему: «Если вы не будете верными, Я рассею вас среди других народов. 9 Но если вы, израильтяне, вернётесь ко Мне и подчинитесь Моим уставам, то даже если ваши люди будут изгнаны из своих домов на край земли, Я вновь соберу их. Я приведу их обратно на место, которое Я избрал, чтобы поместить там Своё имя».
10 Израильтяне—Твои слуги и Твой народ! Своим могуществом Ты спас этих людей. 11 Господи, пожалуйста, услышь мою молитву. Я—слуга Твой. 1 The words of Nehemiah son of Hakaliah:
In the month of Kislev(A) in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa,(B) 2 Hanani,(C) one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant(D) that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.
3 They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.(E)”
4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept.(F) For some days I mourned and fasted(G) and prayed before the God of heaven. 5 Then I said:
“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God,(H) who keeps his covenant of love(I) with those who love him and keep his commandments, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear(J) the prayer(K) your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess(L) the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly(M) toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.
8 “Remember(N) the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter(O) you among the nations, 9 but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather(P) them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.’(Q)
10 “They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand.(R) 11 Lord, let your ear be attentive(S) to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor(T) in the presence of this man.”
I was cupbearer(U) to the king.

1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,
2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
5 And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Nehemiah Prays for His People

5 And I said: “I pray, (I)Lord God of heaven, O great and (J)awesome God, (K)You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love [c]You and observe [d]Your commandments, 6 please let Your ear be attentive and (L)Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and (M)confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father’s house and I have sinned. 7 (N)We have acted very corruptly against You, and have (O)not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses. 8 Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, (P)‘If you [e]are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations; 9 (Q)but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, (R)though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.’ 10 (S)Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand. 11 O Lord, I pray, please (T)let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who (U)desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.”
