God’s Righteousness through Faith

²¹ But now, apart from the law, God’s righteousness has been revealed^(A)—attested by the Law and the Prophets^[a](B)

³¹ But Israel, pursuing the law for righteousness,^(A) has not achieved the righteousness of the law.^[a](B)

⁴ For Christ is the end^[a] of the law for righteousness^(A) to everyone who believes.^{(B) 5} For Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: The one who does these things will live by them.^(C)[b]

²¹ I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law,^(A) then Christ died^(B) for nothing.

²¹ Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly be by the law.
