The Vision of the Fall of Babylon

18 After these things, I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority,^[a] and the earth was made bright by his splendor. ²He cried out in a powerful voice,

“Fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen!
    She has become a home for demons.
She is a prison for every unclean spirit,
    a prison for every unclean bird,
    and a prison for every unclean
        and hated beast.

Lament Over Fallen Babylon

18 After this I saw another angel^(A) coming down from heaven.^(B) He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.^(C) ²With a mighty voice he shouted:

“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’^[a]^(D)
    She has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit,^(E)
    a haunt for every unclean bird,
    a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.^(F)
