²¹For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?

⁴“Show me, Lord, my life’s end
and the number of my days;^(A)
let me know how fleeting^(B) my life is.^(C)

⁴Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.

¹²Teach us to number our days,^(A)
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.^(B)
