¹⁶ “What can we say to my lord?^(A)” Judah^(B) replied. “What can we say? How can we prove our innocence?^(C) God has uncovered your servants’^(D) guilt. We are now my lord’s slaves^(E)—we ourselves and the one who was found to have the cup.^(F)”

³³ “Now then, please let your servant remain here as my lord’s slave^(A) in place of the boy,^(B) and let the boy return with his brothers.

¹⁸ His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him.^(A) “We are your slaves,”^(B) they said.
