² and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: ^(A)The Lord is with you while you are with him. ^(B)If you seek him, he will be found by you, ^(C)but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

⁵ Afterwards ^(A)the children of Israel shall return and ^(B)seek the Lord their God, and ^(C)David their king, ^(D)and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the ^(E)latter days.

³⁹ And those of you who are left shall ^(A)rot away in your enemies' lands because of their iniquity, and also because of the iniquities of their fathers they shall rot away like them.

⁴⁰ “But if ^(B)they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery that they ^(C)committed against me, and also in walking contrary to me, ⁴¹ so that I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies—if then their ^(D)uncircumcised heart is ^(E)humbled and they make amends for their iniquity, ⁴² then I will ^(F)remember my covenant with Jacob, and I will remember my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will ^(G)remember the land.

Repentance and Forgiveness

30 ^(A)“And ^(B)when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and ^(C)you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you, ² and ^(D)return to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, ³ then the Lord your God ^(E)will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you, and he will ^(F)gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.
