²⁵ Brothers and sisters, pray for us.^(A)

³⁰ I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit,^(A) to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.^(B)

¹⁸ And pray in the Spirit^(A) on all occasions^(B) with all kinds of prayers and requests.^(C) With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying^(D) for all the Lord’s people. ¹⁹ Pray also for me,^(E) that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly^(F) make known the mystery^(G) of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador^(H) in chains.^(I) Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Instructions on Worship

2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers,^(A) intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— ² for kings and all those in authority,^(B) that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness^(C) and holiness.

⁵ The widow who is really in need^(A) and left all alone puts her hope in God^(B) and continues night and day to pray^(C) and to ask God for help.

¹⁸ Pray for us.^(A) We are sure that we have a clear conscience^(B) and desire to live honorably in every way. ¹⁹ I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.^(C)

¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins^(A) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.^(B) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.^(C)
